Today we had the pleasure to have dinner with two great american artists, Flora Bowley and Michael Murmane, it was a wonderfull evening with great conversations about the "artist's life"and traveling, it was great to hear their stories and share our work and experiences, it inspired us to know it is possible to live and sustain ownself as an independent artist. That is the kind of life we want! After dinner I challenged them to take some collodion portraits, I allways love to show off the process of pouring the collodion and dipping the plate into the silver bath, but it is the developing and fixing that that really gives the WOW factor, I've done some many plates and still love to take the plate out of the fixer and see it against a dark background to see the positive image, it is magic! Michael's portrait is probably the best I have done yet, everything came out great!
